But I don't believe that Cassandra completely hates Rapunzel. They grew apart after their argument and when Cassie's hand got burned. I don't think that Rapunzel revealed the details of her childhood to others, so Cass could have a good image of her mother.Ĭassandra always had some resentment and jealousy over the attention that Rapunzel got. A child craves their parent's affection even if the parent is neglectful. Maybe she didn't blame Gothel because she didn't realise that Gothel's attitude towards her was abusive. She needed someone to blame in that situation and she blamed Rapunzel.

Being abandoned by her mother was very traumatizing. Cassandra was very disturbed after remembering her childhood. I think that she grabbed the moonstone in a fit of anger, she wasn't thinking clearly.
#Tangled the series cassandra how to
Rapunzel needs to learn how to lead, she will be the queen one day. I know that she didn't trust Adira but she could have some faith in Rapunzel.

Gothel used to call her gullible and naive, she never got to make decisions. She called Rapunzel obliviously naive in that episode where they had a fight because of Adira, which made Rapunzel angry. Anybody could compete in that competition, why would she hide Rapunzel's weapon? Rapunzel had a right to compete as well. I didn't like when she hid Rapunzel's pan in "challenge of the Brave". Cass never gets to shine but she doesn't have to force her decisions on Rapunzel. I felt really bad for poor little Cassandra in that scene but atleast she got adopted by a good man. It wasn't Rapunzel's fault that Gothel abandoned her own child and kidnapped her. I would love some discussion! And this is my first time really writing a discussion on reddit. Maybe I’m bitter about it, who knows?Īlso please be gentle with the comments. But on the surface this is how I am seeing Cassandra’s betrayal. I loved their friendship SO much and I really hope it returns. However I am hoping there will be a redemption arch. Should Rapunzel have listened to her about the reverse incantation? That is up to interpretation, in my opinion she was outmatched and outclassed in that fight. In short she just seems upset that Rapunzel was born at all.

She bottled up her emotions until she couldn’t hold them in anymore despite many attempts by Raps to clear the air. Rapunzel chose to go with her gut and follow Adira who obvs knows much more about this situation than Cassandra did so she went with the person who knew what was going on, given the circumstances I think most would have done the same. Rapunzel was born a princess and she wasn’t so she isn’t automatically in the spot light, look I get that she was never allowed to shine because of her station but I guess that’s automatically Rapunzel’s fault too. For her mother leaving- never mind Gothel was a horrible person who kidnapped a baby and locked them in a tower and abused them through narcissistic tendencies, she went after Raps so it’s automatically Raps’ fault.
